Meeting: Thursday 21 January 2016

Two 'Challenges' to be reviewed this time: 'Right Place Right Time' and 'Minimalism'.   Pete Shaw will be giving a lesson on 'Colour Temperature and White Balance'.  Members are also invited to bring images from the Christmas Challenge - 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'.

At the previous meeting, we had good uptake for the challenge 'Rural Landscape'  with images that took us around Britain in a range of styles and weathers.

David Sage and Bob Bray gave a presentation on the work they have done for the Harold White Project on behalf of the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre - this entailed taking images of life in Lacock today to compare with White's images 70 years ago.  A book on the project is to be published later this year.

Philip Male and David Sage gave us their versions of the Christmas Challenge - 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'.  Philip spent an enjoyable Christmas manipulating images to fit in with the music (and playing with Photoshop and Bokeh  effects) while David did a daily record of what he did (hope he picked up a bargain at the sales!)

Following a gift of photographic books, members intend to start a borrowing library with requests to borrow being conducted via Wiggio.
